All you wanted to know about Aaron Helman’s books

Meet me at BookCon – This Saturday! Hello friends! It’s been an exciting several weeks, but there is still lots of new and exciting stuff happening in local history and I hope you’ll be a part of it. Read on for more books, more articles, and more great events!

On the Southernmost Bend is available now and is on shelves at The History Museum, Studebaker National Museum, and East Race Market. Of course, it’s available 24/7 on Amazon and at aaronhelman.com/books.

But the best way to get a copy or copies of the new book (as well as the previous books) is to come and find me at the downtown South Bend library this Saturday from 11:00 – 3:00. I’ll be selling and signing books along with dozens of other local authors. This is a wonderful event and a great way to support local creators. Hope to see you there!

Join me April 18 at the Mishawaka libraryI’ll be at the downtown Mishawaka Library on April 18 at 6:30 to talk about some of my favorite local characters – Edward Bonney, Richard Carlisle, and the Huckleberry Queen!

Of course, I’ll also have time to take questions, and sign and sell books. My friends at the library would love it if you could RSVP if you’re planning on being there and I’m excited to share these stories with you again… or for the first time!

Articles you might have missed…I’m writing one article each week about the history of how a local road got its name. You’ve probably seen some of them, but just in case you missed a few, I’ve included a few links below: Joseph Bartlett and the Washington Street Stop on the Underground Railroad
The road is named after a guy named Brick?
Lathrop Miner Taylor and the three streets that carry his name
Norman Eddy: The most brilliant South Bender of all time?
Lot Day: Making the most of his day in South Bend
Alexander Napier Thomas: South Bend’s forgotten mayor
Rudolph Donmoyer: Mayor of South Bend’s Kalamity Korners and so much more
